Sun Protection

Australia has some of the highest UV levels in the world.

On a sunny summer day, UV radiation is strong enough to cause sunburn in just 11 minutes. A UV level of 3 and above means that sun protection is required between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM. In Melbourne during autumn and winter (May to August) the UV level is usually below 3, so sun protection is not required then.
